UNICROSS Appoints Professor Francisca Bassey as Acting VC and directs the outgoing Acting Vice Chancellor should immediately hand over.

The Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, has taken a decisive step in reshaping the leadership of the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) by dissolving the current Governing Council of the institution.

In line with this move, the Governor has approved the appointment of Professor Francisca Bassey as the Acting Vice Chancellor of UNICROSS.

Additionally, Dr. Fidelis Ugbo has been appointed as the Pro-Chancellor of the university, while Hon. Francis Ettah and Professor Susan Etim have also been named as members of the new Governing Council.

The complete list of appointees for the council will be released in due course.

The State Government has reiterated its commitment to upholding the welfare of staff and students, ensuring a conducive learning environment, and maintaining high teaching standards at UNICROSS.

The newly appointed leadership is expected to work towards resolving issues that may disrupt academic activities and to implement strategies that will reposition the institution positively.
