Nigerian Govt Approves Bola Ahmed Tinubu Polytechnic

BOLA TINUBU POLY

The Nigerian Government has approved the establishment of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Federal Polytechnic in Gwarinpa, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

This initiative is part of the Federal Government’s policy to ensure every state in Nigeria has at least one federal polytechnic.

A letter dated 9th January 2025, signed by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, and addressed to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, confirmed this development.

The letter outlined the strategic importance of the polytechnic in advancing technological, vocational, and entrepreneurial education in the country.

The letter requested the FCT Minister to suggest locations for both the temporary and permanent sites of the polytechnic within Gwarinpa.

It further stated that a Technical Team from the Federal Ministry of Education (FME) and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) would visit the proposed sites for inspection.

Dr. Alausa explained, “The approval will be granted based on the recommendations provided in the report from the inspection team.”

He also encouraged the possibility of taking over existing tertiary institutions within the FCT, should the Minister deem it appropriate, to expedite the establishment process.

  1. My observations firstly is, I strongly don’t believe that the area is not a suitable location for a tertiary institution, maybe anywhere in AMAC should’ve sufficed.
Secondly, the minute by the Minister to the secretary no follow the request made from the Education Ministry.

  2. This Nigeria we are going into foolish season this is not a development is just a selfish of the president which is not good, we are Nigerian and citizens also a poorest in the country this government known what is matter for us we are experiencing the high price of commodity and food items. So this not what they settle they just built their self and their family. Insha Allah this motions will not be granted by God.

    1. Incidentally, it seems you don’t understand the issue on ground. We all need to make individual contributions to the growth of the nation. Negative thoughts and attitudes are not the best ingredients for success.

      1. You really don’t understand his point of view building the polytechnic will not bring success rather than pave more ways for them to steal more and enrich theirselves at the top many graduates don’t have job they will say is more opportunity for the graduated students to get employment in the end they fix in their people there.
The problem Nigeria needs to be solved is Pricing in all. We own crude and gets fuel at high price. People can no longer travel every gets higher and don’t have intentions of coming down. Many people can not feed and you sit there and call building the polytechnic a development what a waste

    2. Nigeria is gone naming a school with someone who’s educational background was a scam and have not cleared despite doing everything to become president so what’s the school supposed to produce

      1. May Almighty Allah Grant the plan and make it cm through it seems u dnt understand hw fct are suffering for and by the way is part of development God bless mr president

    3. You are derailed!
You better get your lazy a$s to the farm and contribute to this country. Every time, Tinubu this, Tinubu that….govt this, govt that. Is it the govt that will plant the tomatoes you will eat? Get busy!!

  3. Projects should not be embarked on for self immortality but true intent of govt and to satisfy the need and purpose of the citizenry.
There are more salient issues begging for govt expedite action.
The amount of tertiary institutions in Nigeria is already churning graduates and manpower of all sorts thus making this Polytechnic project of less priority and bottom most in opportunity cost table.
You are intent on creating more schools, with the existing ones churning out graduates of all sorts year in year out but you blatantly refuse to want them have a good laugh live.
Pay them NYSC Allowances to reflect current economic reality.

    1. Are you sure of this your statement? Self immortality? How many of this do we have around in his name? Naming a school after Tinubu is the least of his worries and I am sure he didn’t ask for it. It’s not a self imposed idea.

      1. Having more colleges, not an issue but maintaining and upgrading the existing one to the world standards class a problem. There is a dichotomy between HND and Bsc in the labor market now, government should rectify this soon than creating more polytechnics that would produce mass HND graduates that turns irrelevant in the future or present labor market. Time will tell.

      1. I’m very sure this people are not Nigerians and they don’t know what the poor masses are facing. They should fix the problems in Nigeria not building nonsense to enrich theirselves. You sit there and be talking nonsense. Do you know how many people that goes hungry to bed everyday just because of the nonsense development they bring up here and then. You sit there and talk we own oil but how much are you purchasing fuel from 250 to 1050 they will remove 50 and leave it at 1000 and you say they tried foolish people everywhere

  4. Education is Power
The School is not for him but for the betterment of Youth at Larger
    I salute your Courage Sir
The Polytechnic institute will bring more jobs to our society and encourage more students to take the advantage to further the Carrier
Thank you very Much Sir our President More Grace for Exploits

  5. Joseph Omojo Obaje

Orozo Technical college and federal treasury school are best locations for the federal polytechnic.
Gwarimpa is way way not suitable. You will not carry a high institution and put in the middle of a city that has developed.

  6. The so called president has ulterior motive. He well know the yearnings of common Nigerians which is end to banditry, reduction of pump price, food stuffs, and to be gainfully employed yet they won’t do it but run to create more problems in the name of institution to immortalise their selfish self. Many Nigeria institution are outdated, dilapidated and begs for renovations but they won’t work on those ones but will be doing things that won’t have direct impact in the lives of the Nigerians. God is watching us all

  7. God bless Nigeria
Please Mr president add more value to our polytechnic in Nigeria
Many companies don’t value polytechnic certificates they value universities certificates.
    God bless Nigeria

  8. A good development though, but the name doesn’t sound soothing. Why not Federal Polytechnic Abuja?
Sometimes, not all names sounds good to immortalise on some kind of facility. This is one.

  9. Why are we still creating Polytechnics? I thought there was a policy shift to having universities of Technology and running B.Tech and doing away with HND. Why waste peoples time where the existing discrimination has not been removed? Pls make sure that school will not run HND but B.Tech

  10. Work on problems of Nigeria building more polytechnic will bring more hungry to the poor masses people can no longer afford school fees for their children.
Work on the stuffs needed like pump ⛽ price and everything will come back to normal just a year and the country is already upsidedown.

  11. We are not saying all we are saying not because we can afford things by ourselves but think about the poor masses they can’t afford the increment of things turning the country non habitable place for them
