Tinubu Says Cheating in Exams is Not Acceptable: Government Vows to Tackle Exam Malpractice.

President Bola Tinubu through the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa has taken a strong stance against examination malpractice in Nigerian schools, describing it as unacceptable and vowing to tackle the issue decisively.

This announcement was made by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, during a recent interview on Channels TV.

The minister emphasised that cheating in exams undermines the integrity of the educational system and discourages hardworking students.

“We have problems with examination malpractice, which we are addressing frontally as a government,” Mr. Alausa stated.

“This is not acceptable because if you let people cheat, you will disincentivise the hardworking people.”

What is Examination Malpractice?

Examination malpractice refers to any form of cheating or unethical behaviour during exams.

This includes leaking question papers, using “miracle centres” (unauthorized exam centres where cheating is rampant), impersonation, and other fraudulent practices.

Over the years, this issue has become a major challenge in Nigeria’s educational system, affecting the credibility of certificates and the quality of education.
