University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) Senate has approved the appointment of three distinguished retirees as Emeritus Professors.
This esteemed recognition was announced in a statement by the university’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, following the Senate’s 304th meeting held on Thursday.
Among those honoured is Professor Is’haq Oloyede, the current Registrar and Chief Executive of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
Oloyede, Vice-Chancellor of UNILORIN from 2007 to 2012, retired from the university’s services in October 2024.
His contributions to academia, university administration, and national education reforms have earned him this prestigious title.
Joining Oloyede on the newly appointed Emeritus Professors list are Professor Olu Obafemi and Professor Musbau Akanji.
Professor Is’haq Oloyede known for his exceptional leadership and administrative acumen, Oloyede played a pivotal role in transforming UNILORIN during his tenure as Vice-Chancellor.
His subsequent appointment as JAMB Registrar brought about significant reforms in Nigeria’s tertiary admissions system.
